  • Hotel Motel Tax Money Available Hotel Motel Tax Money Available

    Each year the City of Richland receives funds from the room tax imposed upon hotels and motels located within the City. These funds can be retained by the City or can be expended for a narrow range of projects and activities established by State law. Projects should encourage tourism. Applications for 2018 funds are due by October 13. For criteria and other detailed information, visit www.ci.richland.wa.us/hotelmotel.     The public is invited to a historic ground breaking celebration for the new Richland City Hall as a component of the City’s Swift Corridor initiative. The event is scheduled for Friday, September 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at the corner of Jadwin and Swift, west of the current City Hall on the northeast corner of the Federal Building parking lot.

  • Richland Energy Services Proposes Increase in Electrical Rates Richland Energy Services Proposes Increase in Electrical Rates

    On Tuesday, September 19, the Richland City Council will consider new electric rates during a public hearing presented by Richland Energy Services. The proposed 6.5% increase would become effective January 2018 and is necessary primarily due to Bonneville Power Administration’s wholesale power increase effective October 1, 2017. Even with the increase, Richland Energy Services’ rates will remain very competitive compared to other regional utilities.
