The City of Richland allows the sale and use of fireworks in accordance with Washington State and local ordinances.

It is legal to sell and purchase fireworks from noon to 11 pm on June 28, from 9 am to 11 pm each day from June 29 through July 4, and from 9 am to 9 pm on July 5.

Fireworks may be used or discharged each day between the hours of noon and 11 pm on June 28 and between the hours of 9 am and 11 pm from June 29 through July 3 and on July 5, and between 9 am and midnight on July 4.

Fireworks are not legal to be sold to or used by persons under the age of 16.

The following types of fireworks are legal in the City of Richland:
• Sparkler - stick or wire coated, produces a shower of sparks.
• Cylindrical Fountain - cylindrical tube, sparks and whistles, may have a base or spike.
• Cone Fountain - as above, but a cone.
• Illuminating Torch - tube with colored fire.
• Wheel - attached to a tree or post and spins, color and sparks.
• Flitter Sparker - narrow paper tube, color and sparks.
