Background:
The Washington State Legislature passed Senate Bill (SB) 5867 that increased the level at which cities are allowed to tax hotel/motel activity. The new legislation created a statutory process through which input from the hospitality industry may be collected regarding the use of hotel/motel tax funds and required the creation of the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.
