Charter & Ordinance Establishing PFD
The Revised Code of Washington (RCW) Section 82.14.390 authorizes the shift of .033% sales and use tax to a public facilities district at no additional cost to the taxpayer to acquire, construct, finance and/or operate a Regional Center located in the City, which will stimulate economic development by creating jobs, attracting tourism and facilitating commercial business; generating additional sales tax and lodging tax revenues; and providing a facility for community events.
It is the goal of the Richland Public Facilities District to choose a project to present to the Richland City Council for approval with construction to begin by June 1, 2009.
The Public Facilities District Board of Directors meets on the third Monday of each month at 1:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber. Special meetings are usually held on the 1st Monday of each month.
