The Stormwater Division is responsible for maintaining and cleaning catch basins and storm drain lines and maintaining a database of all the features of the infrastructure and maintenance performed on it. Additionally the division is responsible for cleaning all City streets with the use of two street sweeping machines.
Stormwater Reporting Hotline #942-7480 The City of Richland is asking its residents and businesses to help monitor spills or illegal discharges into the city’s storm drain system by calling the 24-hour hotline . Examples of illegal discharges or spills include used motor oil, fuel oil, anti-freeze, fertilizers, paint and solvents.

*NOTICE*
The Stormwater Division personnel have found quanities of yard waste, grass, leaves, trash, oil, paint, petroleum products, etc. in the stormwater system throughout the City. These items can cause odors, nusiance, obstructions, and or problems in the system.
Oil, paint, and petroleum products are considered a hazardous waste. Yard waste that causes obstruction in the stormwater system is a violation of the City's Ordinance. According to state regulations it is illegal to put anything except stormwater down a storm drain.
Stormwater goes to the Columbia River so help protect our natural resources.
