Hi Kids! I’m CORKIE.
CORKIE stands for the "City of Richland Kids Interactive Educator."
I help grown-ups teach kids (and sometimes other grown-ups) about environmental issues and fire safety!
I love our earth and want to do all I can to take care of it. But I need your help.
Together we can keep it cleaner, greener, and healthier!
Uncontrolled fires scare me because too many children get hurt each year from fire or smoke. Being safe with fire saves lives so I help adults teach fire safety!
I live at the Richland Central Fire Station (1000 George Washington Way) and love to give tours and have visitors. Be sure to call first (942-7560) as I still take daily naps.
I also attend many City events and I would love to see you there!

For a schedule of appearances, call 942-7730 or visit the Richland Public Library. I am at the library during children's program about four times a year. The library is located at 955 Northgate. I often assist the children’s librarian with reading programs. Call to find out when my next appearance is! (942-7452).
I am also available to talk at your school or Richland organization. For an environmental talk, call Gail Everett at 942-7730. For a program on fire safety, call 942-7560.
Hope to see you soon!
I also have my own e-mail at corkie@ci.richland.wa.us and my mom helps me type.
