Hanford Programs
Purpose
Hanford Communities is involved in a variety of activities related to the Hanford cleanup. The Hanford Communities and the
State of Washington Department of Ecology cooperate to provides informative community programs designed to increase awareness of Hanford clean-up issues in the Tri-Cities metropolitan region. The cooperative arrangement identifies and supports opportunities for local citizens to become more actively involved in Hanford issues.
Issue Briefings
Each year in an effort to increase public awareness about current environmental cleanup issues, the Hanford Communities produce three half-hour programs for local access television channels. The program that is now showing provides information on groundwater cleanup activities. In the fall of 2010 a new program will be on the air providing information about the accomplishments made with the first year of funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Public Meetings
