North George Washington Way Project Phase Two Begins
The next phase of the North George Washington Way Pavement Preservation Project, from Sprout Road to Horn Rapids Road, begins next week, September 23, 2019. The contractor will continue to complete work on phase one, (Van Giesen to Sprout) including casting adjustments, final striping, and site restoration. This work should continue into early October. The temporary crossing for Jefferson Elementary School, south of Van Giesen Street, will remain in place during the completion of phase one work.
Construction of phase two, the 1.5 mile section from Sprout to Horn Rapids Road, includes asphalt milling and overlay, ADA improvements, pedestrian crossing enhancements including installation of three rapid flash beacons and restriping of the segment to include bicycle lanes.
Traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction within the phase two work zone.
