The Assistant City Manager plays an important role at the City of Richland. Not only does Jon support the efforts of the City Manager, but he is also responsible for a wide variety of time sensitive, diverse, and advanced level professional duties. Our Assistant City Manager oversees legislative priorities and outreach within the City as well as the Information Technology and Communications & Marketing offices.
The technology vision for the City of Richland is to be a leader in the local government community and exceed the service expectations of our customers (citizens, businesses, employees and visitors) through the innovative use of technology. Led by the Assistant City Manager, the Information Technology Master Plan lays the groundwork for effective and efficient eGovernment initiatives. Overall priorities in this plan must be accomplished in order for the IT Department to successfully undertake projects that fundamentally change the way the city does business with the community.
Communications & Marketing
Communicating effectively to our citizens is a high priority. At the City of Richland we have several tools that assist us in sharing information in a timely manner.
The City of Richland maintains a comprehensive communications and marketing program that includes an interactive website, social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, youtube) programming on CityView TV, monthly utility bill inserts and informational kiosks at the Richland Public Library and City Hall.
Richland looks to the Legislature to strengthen the state and local government partnership and protect current revenue sources available to the City, provide new revenue options and to provide flexibility in the use of existing revenues.
