Every 10 years the City is required to update its Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The Comprehensive Land Use Plan (Comp. Plan) guides decisions about development and growth within the city's urban growth boundary (UGA). The consulting team of Oneza and Associates was hired to guide City staff through the effort. The City held an open house on March 20, 2017 for the public to review and comment on draft documents related to the Comprehensive Plan update. Documents and Maps that were part of the open house can be accessed in the Public Information section of this site. Comments are welcome and can be submitted using the Comprehensive Plan Comment Form.
The city's consultant, Oneza and Associates, will be presenting the draft of the 10 year Comprehensive Plan Update at a public open house on March 20, 2017. The public is invited to come review and offer feedback on the draft plan anytime between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on March 20th. This open house will be at the city's warehouse and shops main administration building located at 2700 Duportail Street. There will be an announcement of this open house in February utility bills.

A public meeting to provide results of the Comprehensive Plan survey and an update on the planning process was held on November 2nd. Along with survey results, Oneza and Associates presented an overview of visioning sessions that were held during October with the Planning Commission, Economic Development Committee, City Council and Topic Groups. The consultant will use this information in creating the Comprehensive Plan Update. The draft update is expected to be completed in early 2017. Public comments can still be made through the comments form on this website.
The City's consultant, Oneza and Associates, held topic group discussions on October 5th to solicit feedback on specific elements of the Comprehensive Plan. Topics covered included Economic Development, Transportation, Parks & Recreation, Open Space, and Land Use & Housing. The groups were asked to consider the following 3 main ideas as they relate to the specific topic of discussion;

- Potential Actions
Additionally, City Council and Planning Commission members held workshop sessions with the consultant team to consider the same questions related to each element of the Comprehensive Plan. A summary of information gathered during the topic group discussions and workshop sessions will be reviewed at the November Public Meeting.
