The City of Richland is actively working on the design of the Columbia Park Trail East reconstruction project. This project will include a complete re-build of Columbia Park Trail from Fowler Street to the Hanford Reach Museum entrance, just over 1 mile in total length.
Included in the construction project will be full curb & gutter, sidewalks (or multi-use pathways), bike lanes and a three lane road section (one east bound, one west bound, and shared turn lane in the middle). Funding for the project is a combination of Richland’s City funds, regional transportation funds, Department of Ecology stormwater grant funds, and Port of Kennewick funds for undergrounding existing overhead power. As part of the frontage improvements, new driveways will be constructed, where necessary. Notices to residents and property owners have been mailed, informing them of the upcoming improvements.
The project is currently scheduled to bid this spring with an early summer construction start. Construction will last through fall of this year.
