The Parkway & Lee Boulevard, between Jadwin Avenue and George Washington Way, will be closed to traffic from 6:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. each Friday through October, for the Farmer’s Market. Businesses in the Parkway will remain open.
Northgate Drive, August 26th – December 31st, Northgate between Knight and Mansfield will be closed to traffic. The Ben Franklin Transit will be using Northgate for a Temporary Transit Center during reconstruction of the Knight Street Transit Center.
George Washington Way (Van Giesen to Sprout), Lane limitations and lane shifts will occur during the work hours of 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Expect minor delays due to construction work and changes to traffic signals within the construction area. Traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction for a majority of this phase of work. Paving between Snyder and Van Giesen September 18-20 will have impacts to intersections on the west side of George Washington Way.
George Washington Way (Sprout to Horn Rapids Road), Lane limitations and lane shifts will occur during the work hours of 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Expect minor delays due to construction work and changes to traffic signals within the construction area. 4th, 5th & 6th Streets (private drives) to the west will be closed during this work.
George Washington Way at Battelle Boulevard Traffic Signal, will be switched to flashing operation Monday morning around 8 a.m. The lights will flash yellow on George Washington, which will always have the right-of-way, and red on Battelle Boulevard which will have to stop. Stop signs will also be in place on Battelle Boulevard to remind drivers of the change. The aging traffic signal when evaluated for traffic conditions is not warranted and thus will be removed concurrent with the completion of the George Washington Way overlay project. It should be noted however, the PNNL is financing the installation of Pedestrian Activated Beacons at the intersections of 10th & 11th Streets.
Amon Park Drive, between Lee Blvd. and the Richland Community Center will be temporarily closed until mid-September. Motorists can access the community center from the south off Bradley Blvd. Pedestrians and cyclists should detour around the closure via the paved river pathway.
Howard Amon Entrance at Lee, will be closed Saturday September 14th from 6 AM to 10 PM for the Atomic Frontier Days.
Jadwin Avenue, Symons Street to Knight Street, will be closed Saturday September 14th from 10:45 to 11:30 AM for the AMAZING PARADE.
Duportail Bridge Phase 1, Duportail Street, between Queensgate Drive and City View Drive, and between SR 240 and Tanglewood Drive, the Duportail Bridge is under construction. Roads are closed to through traffic. Residents affected by construction may experience minor delays.
