Purpose

The purpose and intent of the Parks and Recreation Commission is to advise the City Council based on public input on:

  • City-provided facilities
  • Civic beautification in order to enhance the quality of life
  • Environmental and cultural preservation
  • Programs for recreation 

Park Partnership Program - Application Date Extended to Monday, April 16, 2018

The Parks and Public Facilities Division administers the annual Park Partnership Program. Through the Parks and Recreation Commission, the City of Richland designates up to $20,000 annually from the Park Reserve Fund to provide matching fund grants to community groups toward making capital improvements to City parks, trails, open space and recreational facilities. The goal of the program is to:

  1. Improve or increase park and recreational opportunities for the general public.
  2. Foster public initiative and participation in developing City park and recreational amenities.
  3. Enhance the quality of life in Richland.

The 2018 Park Partnership application, date has been extended to 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018.
