Hanford Communities are involved in a variety of activities related to the Hanford cleanup. The Hanford Communities and the State of Washington Department of Ecology cooperate to provide informative community programs designed to increase awareness of Hanford clean-up issues in the Tri-Cities metropolitan region. The cooperative arrangement identifies and supports opportunities for local citizens to become more actively involved in Hanford issues.

Issue Briefings

The Hanford Communities produce “Issue Briefings” that are broadcast locally on Charter cablevision and on public access cable locally and in the Yakima, Seattle and Portland markets.  The Issue Briefings provide a vehicle for local stakeholders to discuss important Hanford issues with those directly involved in the Hanford cleanup.
